Merry Christmas and Peace on Earth -- WOYWW #238

Wishing everyone who celebrates a wonderful and Merry Christmas today!!! I'm fortunate this Christmas to have close family nearby. My oldest sister lives down the street from me now. We celebrated last night with spiked eggnog, dinner, and opening of Christmas presents. Growing up we always had Christmas Eve dinner (or Kucios).

My desk is the same mess as last week. No changes there. Will leave you with this card I made...oh, and desk you ask? Yes, head over to Julia's Stamping Ground to check it all out.

Have a very Merry Christmas!!!

WOYWW #237 -- a heck of a mess I tell ya..

It's one week before Christmas folks!!! Can you believe it?! I can't. Time flies by way too fast.

So, besides being a week from Christmas it's also Wednesday which means...time to share the craft desk. Head over to Julia's Stamping Ground to see what all the fuss is about.

For those of you neat crafters -- I'm sorry. LOL. But my desk is a huge mess with ink pads, stamps, paper, glitter, etc. There's a set of 3 plaster trees I want to get painted up for my little village I have. Years and years ago they always had a ton of village houses, shops, etc and I have a whole tub full of them. And ornaments too!

Here's a close up of a plastic container I kinda put most of my Christmas clear stamps, etc in...

And last week I went to a class at JoAnn's to learn how to knit. Here's what I have so far...

And I'll leave you with a pic of my doggies in front of the tree.

A Rustic Christmas

Finally the rain has stopped and the sun is shining. We've been getting so much rain (a continuation from spring and summer) and clouds! Yuk!! Christmas is just about a week away...and I have yet to go Christmas shopping. I am just so behind this year - I don't know why. :-/

Here's another card I made for Christmas..my first attempt with the Sizzix accordion die. So fun to decorate each panel.

The paper is by The Paper Studios - Santa & Friends. Edges all inked with TH Vintage Photo.

Here's the front of the card. The sentiment is by TH Stampers Anonymous. The holly leaves are by Impression Obsession.

The tree is also a IO die. I added Viva Glitter Liner - Holo Iridescent to the snowflakes.

Both the deer and fir tree are IO dies. I added Stampendous Shabby White embossing enamel for snow.

The last panel - Leaping Deer - is a Memory Box die.

I'm submitting this to the following challenges:

Loves Rubberstamps Challenge Blog - Holiday Blitz - Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes

Pink Christmas

I finally finished all my Christmas cards last week. This year I didn't even start until after Thanksgiving. Yikes.

Here's a card I made using a new stamp I purchased at the Scrapbook Expo this year...

Simple black background with the trees (Rubbernecker Stamps) stamped and fussy cut. The larger one was popped up for dimension. I added small dots to the trees with Viva Pearl Pen in Pearl Pink along with a white gelly roll pen around the bottom edges of tree branches. Stickles Copper added to the tree trunk. Snowflakes were added to the background with a white Gelly roll pen.

Along the bottom of the the card is a little snow bank made with Stampendous Vintage Pink embossing tinsel (Love!) and Marvy Snow Marker along the top edge (heat set to make it pop).

I'm adding this to the Craft Your Passion Challenge - Let It Snow.

WOYWW #236

Gosh, it's December and almost Christmas. How time flies!!! And, it's also another Wednesday which means it's time to share my craft desk. Why you ask? Head over to Julia's Stamping Ground and see what all the fuss is about.

Last week I was missing again. I went to a Christmas Festival of Lights display here in Georgia on Tuesday evening (and it rained!) and the next day went to a tree farm and got my Christmas tree.  You can see some of it here (and my tree).

My super messy desk which will be cleared up some later this morning. In the process of trying to finish up my Christmas cards and get them in the mail. You can see one I was adding some extra touches to. It's a Sizzix Pop n Cut card. First time I used it and so fun and cute. There are some extra cards sitting on top of the pen storage.

Here's what's happening around the desk. The rest of my Christmas paper, dies, stamps, etc. :-)

Happy WOYWW!!

Flat Susan's visit in GA

Hi Everyone. Gosh, I feel like I've hardly blogged for the last couple months. Well, I guess I haven't. Especially last month. Hopefully this month I can make up for it and get my cards, etc posted to share.

In the meantime, I've had a little guest with me..her name is Flat Susan and you can find out all about her and her travels here

Last week she got a chance to play in the snow. I was completely shocked when I awoke the day before Thanksgiving to find snow had fallen. It was in the forecast for Atlanta, but I live about 30 minutes south so wasn't expecting anything. Well, I was wrong!!!

I guess it was more of a snow/ice mixture.

The next day we celebrated Thanksgiving. I made dinner and my sister, brother in law, and his mom came over. And Thanksgiving...was the coldest since 1911. Goodness gracious!

Earlier this week we went to Callaway Gardens (about an hour south of my house) to see the Festival of Lights. It's one of the "Top 10 Places to See Holiday Lights" according to their website and National Geographic Traveler. Well it didn't disappoint...(but, it started raining, again, while we were driving through!)

Yesterday, Flat Susan got to pick out my Christmas Tree. We went to a tree farm to see what they have...

Oh, and remember the cold, snowy weather we had last week? Well, it was 70 degrees outside!!! Ca-razy weather (which just continues from spring and summer...).

A Fraser Fir was picked out (pre-cut from NC). To me, they just seem more like a Christmas tree anyway. And here it is...

Flat Susan helped hang up some of my mom's ornaments. She used to make Lithuanian ornaments for years and years. Traditional ones are made with paper straw but these are made with white drinking straws.

The crosses are my favorite.

Today, Flat Susan left Georgia and is making her way to North Carolina. in the hills of North Carolina to be exact to visit with Sandee. I had the chance to meet Sandee last April. We had lunch and I saw where all her handmade goodies are displayed for sale at a fun artist's store. I have my 2 best friends that live quite close by so I stopped off to meet her. I'm sure FS will love her visit. Asheville, NC is gorgeous!
