Kick Back & Relax

Pretty tired this afternoon (didn't help I ate an apple fritter after lunch and the sugar high left me.....putting me to sleep at the car dealer waiting on my oil change). Was up late last night watching my Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley cup!!!! :-)

So, wishing I could kick back and relax in this hammock on a beach with a cool breeze. (and a nice adult beverage!).

The Palm Hammock is from Sparkle N Sprinkle as well as the sentiment. I colored with Copics and than used Out of Bounds technique to die cut the image with Spellbinders Standard Circle Large. I added Memento inks (Summer Sky, Desert Sand, Angel Pink) to create the sky/sand. I also cut a larger circle with sticker paper, adhered the image to the center, and sprinkled Sunny Daze glitter around the edge. The sentiment was embossed with Hit The Beach. Pattern paper by The Paper Studio ~ A Day At The Beach paper pack.

Not all who wander are Lost

Hi all...hope everyone had a great weekend....I'm on my "hump day" right now. :-)

Here's another card I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle using their new stamp set My Anchor

I guess this could be considered a CASE card. I used Spellbinders Labels Eight to die cut the blue CS. I outlined with a glue pen and than added Laser Blue glitter along the inner edge. I used Distress Inks (Vintage Photo, Old Paper, Pumice Stone, and Iced Spruce on the white CS. For full instructions, click here.

Have a wonderful week!!!

Surf Wagon

Hope everyone is enjoying their week. I'm in the middle of my "weekend" and will be heading up to my craft room in just a bit to get working on some DT projects...here's a card I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle.

While I was in Myrtle Beach, SC last month I stopped at a scrapbook store and found this awesome paper (My Mind's Eye) and knew it would go great with the Surfin' Woody stamp set. I love the distressed look of it! This stamp can also be purchased individually. The orange you see on the base is actually embossing powder. I used adhesive tape and than added Jack O Lantern embossing powder and heat set. Added a strip of burlap for texture. The stamp was colored using Copics. I added some Tim Holtz Old Paper distress ink around the stamped image.

WOYWW #211

Yikes...I almost forgot it's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday!! Sheesh. Julia over at Stamping Ground is the wonderful hostess. It's early evening here, about to get dinner (shrimp tacos) started but wanted to share my desk...

I was waiting for some furniture to be delivered today (including a couple items for my craft room!!) so dove into my craft desk and worked on a DT project for an upcoming challenge which will be posted July 1st. This is the remnants of it...acrylic paints (all beachy/summer colors), Mudd Puddles, and glitter. Some Mod Podge in the back. And a few shells laying out. I went to Michael's to look for a small bird but couldn't find any...however, I found some cool mold's by Mod Podge (a nature one that has a some birds), and Mod Melts. You use a glue gun to insert the white Mod Melts and once it heats up just zap the glue gun and put the "melts" into the mold, wait 10 minutes and you got yourself a nice mold to paint, etc. :-)

Here's 2 new cubbies for my craft room. As you can see I haven't done anything to it really. Will need to buy more storage containers and set things up.

And for the bird lover's out there...

I found this smushed egg on my deck this past week. I think another bird stole what looks like a robin's egg and dropped it on my deck! :-(

But onto good news..

I have a momma bird who built a nest right outside my front door in th elight fixture. I got up on a ladder several days ago to see what's inside...at least 4 eggs. :-) I'm pretty sure it's a finch.

Happy WOYWW!

Happy Father's Day

Hope everyone is enjoying today with their dad, spouse, granddad, children, etc...my dad passed away 13 years ago in May. He was 75 years old.

I look so much like him in this picture. It's crazy!

Onto a card I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle using one of their new stamp sets called My Anchor. I used Black Detail embossing powder on the rope stamp along the top. The large anchor was stamped, colored, and fussy cut. I added some glossy accent to the anchor part. The smaller anchor was from the MFT Sea Charms die set. I added some 2 1/2" Tear-iffic Tape to scrap CS and than die cut the anchor. Than added Black Ice glitter. The compass and sentiment are both from the same set. The corners of the CS were punched with a Tonic Studios Corner Ticket punch.

Surf's Up

Hi Everyone! So sorry I haven't been around visiting many blogs. I am trying to slowly catch up reading them as I have time....bloglovin' definitely helps with that!! :-)

I'm still trying to play catch up with all the housework, yardwork, etc that needs to be done. Plus, card making! And, my wrist has been hurting when I twist it and whatnot -- found out I have tendinitis! Great!!!!

Last week I was able to sit down and get a few done...here's one of them I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle using the Surfin Woody stamp set.

I used a piece of glossy CS and added alcohol inks for the background scene (Pool, Aqua, Sunset Orange, and Latte). I added Sparkling Sands Sparkle N Soft with brushable glue to create "sand". The waves were made using a Memory Box - Oceana Border die with SNS sticker paper and Misty Blue glitter. Although I used the stamp set the Surfin' Woody car stamp can be purchased individually. I fussy cut and added to card with mounting tape. The palm tree and puffy clouds are both Memory Box dies. Lastly I added Shells and Cabana Beach Mudd Puddles to the bottom of the card.

Have a great weekend! Mine is over and will be heading back to work today.

Go Confidently

Hi All. Gosh, it seems like forever since I posted a blog with a card to share. I guess it's been a month now. Super busy with vacations, visiting family, work (of course), not feeling well, etc...slowly trying to catch up with everything.

Here's a card I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle with their new stamp set called My Anchor. Great masculine set and perfect for Father's Day or any occasion.

I de-stressed the edges of my bottom layer CS and added Vintage Photo DI. The ledger paper is by K & Co.  - Flora and Fauna Ledger Designer Paper Pad. I punched the bottom with a Fiskar's punch (forgot the name right now). also de-stressed the edges and added Old Paper and Vintage Photo DI along the edges. Kinda roughed up the bottom punch to look used and worn.

The image was stamped with Versamark and sprinkled Pine Star embossing powder over image and heat set. I added mini stapled with a TH stapler to stamped image. Added twine around the ledger paper and a few more staples. The sentiment is from same stamp set and also de-stressed the edges and added DI. Punched a small hole in corner and tied a knot with the twine.

Have a great weekend.

WOYWW #209

I'm here. Not lost....just super busy the last month or so. Not alot of posts from me. I do one or two new followers and want to say thank you. But, today is Wednesday and it's time to share our craft desks and see what is (or isn't) going on....all hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground who celebrated 4 years of this blog last Wednesday. And I was out of town. :-(

So, here's my desk...

Since I haven't been home much, not really anything going on. Just some purchases. Last weekend I went to Michael's and bought some Tim Holtz stuff that they had on sale for 40% off I believe. I received some of my DT stuff in the mail (and I am SO behind on, my weekend is Wed/Thurs so will be catching up on that), some graduation paper (my cousin's duaghter graduated college and want to make a card). The hemp is for a large milk bottle I bought. I want to glue the cord around the top part of the bottle, make it nautical and put my shells from Myrtle Beach in there. :-) Some other new purchases as well.

Like, I said, totally missed out on last week's WOYWW because I was in Charleston, SC. No time for the ATC swap. Another :-(.

Lots to do today....gotta run and I will get to as many of y'alls posts as I can later today. Happy WOYWW!!!!
