Happy Easter! ~~ Got Carrots?

Happy Easter!!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Here's one last Easter card I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle. The background was embossed with a Darice egg folder. I used versamark pad to lightly tap it over the eggs. Then sprinkled Shimmer embossing powder over it and heat set. A Spellbinders Marvelous Square die was used to cut sticker paper. I peeled the top off and generously poured Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter over the entire die cut paper. Rub in with fingers. Alcohol inks were sparsely used over the velvet gliltter -- you can see some techniques here

I stamped the bunny with carrots and the sentiment, colored with Copics and fussy cut. The die cut paper was popped up with mounting tape as well as the sentiment tag.

Easter Chick

Can you believe Easter is just around the corner? A couple days away now. Easter and my birthday can be a hard time since 2 years ago Easter fell two days after my birthday and it was the last time I spoke to my mom. She than went to the hospital right afterwards and passed away 4 days later. One month from today it'll be 2 years.

Anyway...onto some more Easter cards. This one I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle

The peepin' chick was colored with Copics and than added Glossy Accents over the cracked egg. The egg border was stamped a few times across to create a longer border and colored with Copics. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used SNS sticker paper to create the sparkly backgrounds behind the chick. Both layers were cut with Spellbinders Labels Eight die. The bottom layer was covered in Sunny Daze glitter and the top layer was covered in Easy Green glitter. Sparkly!!

And thank you to my new followers. I do appreciate you taking the time to follow me. :-)

WOYWW #199

Happy Wednesday folks! Another day to take a look and see what all the crafty peeps are up to out there....all hosted by Julia at Stamping Ground. So yesterday on my way to work I saw snow. SNOW! We are one week into Spring here in the South and there's snow. What the .. ?! I had my car in the body shop for 2 weeks as well after it was rear ended back in November. Finally got it back this morning. Yay!

Onto my desk....

I actually broke out my mixed media journal book and started my very first page. So that's what you see on my desk...paints, gel mediums, stencils. And my spring themed journal page. Not sure if I am 100% in love but I think it looks okay. :-)  Here's a close up....

And last week I had some Stampin' Up cards tossed on my desk that some wanted to see....here they are..

I have the large swallowtail stamp already and can't wait to play with it some more. The last one is my favorite and will keep on display in my craft room. The lady who I go to had tatted the design at the bottom of the card for each of us. Isn't that sweet? It is so pretty.

Okay, that's it from me this morning....Happy WOYWW!!

Birthday Wishes

It's Tuesday, my Monday, and it's still cold. Yuk. Quick post to share a card I made for Sparkle N Sprinkle with one of their new stamp sets.

The stamps and sentiment are from this new set, Silhouettes. I first stamped on watercolor paper, painted with Twinkling H20's, and cut with Spellbinders Labels Twenty Five (except I trimmed the bottom and top). I also stamped some of the flowers onto the background (once at full strength and a second time without re-inking).

On all these spiky flowers I added Waterscape glitter. Love the look of this glitter...so pretty and such a nice shine.

Okay, off to walk the dogs....

Spring Tulips

Is it really spring?! It felt like it last weekend. Over the past week it drastically changed. I was laughing, cause the forecast on the 'net shows a high of 77 for today....yesterday in the 50's, tomorrow in the 40's...I hardly doubt it!!

Here's another spring card though...for Easter.

I saw this embossing folder at my stamp store and had to have it. :-) It's a Darice Tulips embossing folder and embossed on glossy paper. I used a brayer and Kaleidacolor - Bouquet inkpad to run the colors across the glossy paper. The sentiment is by Sparkle N Sprinkle and stamped with the same inkpad. And a cute yellow polka dot ribbon. Simple and cute! :-)

Happy Spring!! (at least, whenever it starts to get here for most of us!!)

Oh Hoppy Day!

Hello all....just wanted to share another Easter card with y'all. :-) Sitting here watching Idol from last night, getting caught up on the Jodi Arias trial.

One last dimensional card I made. I had so much fun with them, will definitely be making more!!

Used a Stampin' Up Woodgrain Textured embossing folder for the border kraft paper. Than cut center out with Spellbinders Labels Eight die. Swiped Teay Dye Distress Ink around the edge. The branches are Impression Obsession - Leafy Branches, Flowers are Memory Box - Flower Mound with Glam Pink Stickles added in center. Grass is My Favorite Thing - Fresh Cut Grass, cut out twice. Added Eucalyptus Stickles on some of the grass blades and front of grass. The top layer was popped up with mounting tape. The bunnies are from Impression Obession with some Tea Dye Distress ink around the edge.

The sentiments are both from Sparkle N Sprinkle

WOYWW #198

Another Wednesday....another week to snoop around at everyone's work spaces and see what is (or isn't) going on...if you'd like to go check it out or snoop yourself head on over to Stamping Ground where Julia is the wonderful hostess. Everyone and anyone is welcome!!

The weather here doesn't seem to want to cooperate. This past weekend was gorgeous. Low 70's. Monday some nasty storms rolled through the area with possible tornado's, hail damage (including at the airport where I work, airplanes were pelted with hail, co-worker's houses/cars were damaged by falling trees or hail), and this morning I woke up to an alert on my phone for freeze warning!! What the heck....!!

So here's my desk. I haven't worked on it since Sunday. I came home from a Stampin' Up club on Monday and set some things down...

My little black craft carrier with some items in it, the 3 cards we made which are just adorable, leftover supplies from all the Easter cards I made. My Bow-Easy bow maker. Love that thing, so easy to make bows now. Finished up my Tim Holtz March tag which is in the previous post...LOVE how it turned out, especially this Stampendous Vintage Embossing Tinsel I bought last week...so sparkly and just love the look of it.

Yesterday right before I left for work I saw a cardinal sitting just outside my backyard on a tree...

I zoomed allllll the way in from my deck!! He (or she) was singing with another cardinal. One would sing, than this one would respond back. :-) I did have a bird feeder in my yard under the tree. But, someone (my male dog) tore it down like a little stinker! He is such the hunter.

Happy Wednesday!!

Easter Tag -- Tim Holtz 12 Tags of 2013

I was just gonna say it's Monday, but it's not...it's Tuesday. LOL. That's what happens when you are on a shift schedule. Today is MY Monday! :-) Yesterday had some t-storms roll through and my poor pup was scared. Out came her thunder shirt and her meds. Yes, my dog takes prozac! Poor thing!

This weekend I managed to finally get the tag done for this month's Tim Holtz tag. I had no idea what I was going to do with the bunny and flowers or sentiment since I don't have those items...but I think this came out great. LOVE it! :-D

I used the same paper stash as in Tim's tag (Seasonal Paper Stash, Tim Holtz) and sanded the edges. Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five for the bunny background. Used Sticky Stuff and Stampendous Vintage Pink Embossing Tinsel over entire background. LOVE it!! I just bought this tinsel last week and it is SO pretty. The bunny is a IO die (set of 3). It is popped up on the tag. The sentiment is from Sparkle N Sprinkle which I believe is discontinued. I cut the edges into a banner and popped it up and added some bling. The grass is My Favorite Things - Fresh Cut Grass. The branches are IO - Leafy Branches and the flowers are Martha Stewart - Hydrangea punch. I added some distress Stickles - Clear Rock Candy to the pink flowers and Glam Pink and Yellow Stickles to the center of the flowers. Sheer ribbon on top and some pink twine around the Spellbinder die.

I just love the sparkle this Embossing Tinsel puts out...so need to get other colors!!! :-D

Easter Peeps

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. The weather here has been so enjoyable. Spring is definitely here. I was cutting myself short by a week too I just realized a bit ago. I was thinking Easter is next Sunday but I still have a couple weeks. Whew! LOL.

Here's a couple adorable (if I do say so myself, hehe) cards I made.

I used a wood grain embossing folder and Spellbinders Labels Eight die to emboss and trim the kraft cardstock. Added pattern paper to card and popped up the die cut/embossed with mounting tape. The branches are Impression Obsession - Leafy Branch (2), My Favorite Things - Fresh Cut Grass (2), Memory Box - Flower Mound. The top grass die was popped up with mounting tape. The chicks, eggs, and sentiments are from Sparkle N Sprinkle and colored with Copics. I added Lacy Lilac glitter to center of flowers on trees and Sunny Daze glitter to chicks.

Here's a second card that is very similar with some minor changes...

I added some Distress Ink along the edge of the kraft paper. Added the trio of peeps by Sparkle N Sprinkle. Pink flowers on trees with Glam Pink Stickles to center of each flower.

I really had fun making these little scenes with the various dies. First time trying it out. Love getting inspiration from all my bloggers! :-)

Graphic 45 Easel Calendar (continued...)

Oh yea, the weather has been super nice the last couple days. I've also been in the yard trimming roses and holly bushes. The roses attacked me! I had thorns in my head, my knuckle was swollen and painful all day from some big nasty thorns. Ouch!!

Been trying to play catch up with cards and DT projects. I realized Easter is NEXT weekend and needed to get cards done. Sheesh. Where does the time go?

Anyway...as part of catching up....here's some more calendar pages from the Graphic 45 collection. I had directions from a local store so it all went together pretty quickly! Here's May-July...I would've had August but realized I didn't take a picture...ah well, with the next set.

And it's late so time for bed. This time change has me all out of whack. I usually end up in bed pretty early....but have been up late every night. Of course, I've been off all week too. :-)

Sparkle N Sprinkle March Blog Hop ~ My Favorite technique

Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle My Favorite technique March blog hop. If you hopped here by way of April Williams, then you are in the right place. Otherwise, you might like to start from the beginning to become eligible for some fabulous prizes.

I can't believe Easter is almost here..I really need to get working on my cards. I haven't made any yet! Yikes. (except for this one!!)

This month's theme for the blog hop is My Favorite Technique. I was wondering and wondering what I would do -- I don't necessarily have a "favorite" just yet. I am always trying new things, etc. However, I finally decided on something I like to do and have used it on a number of occasions.

Spring is getting closer and closer. I'm as happy as this little rabbit skipping down the lane. :-)

I used distress inks on glossy paper after embossing the bunny and sentiment in White Detail embossing powder. Full instructions here

Thank you for visiting and be sure to leave a comment to be eligible to win a prize (3 are hidden on various blogs). Next up is Shona Erlenborn

WOYWW #197

Good Wednesday to Everyone!! Hope y'all are having a great week. Here in the States we switched to Daylight Savings Time...it stays lighter longer which I love!! This weekend is supposed to get up to 70 degrees F. Woohoo!! :-) And, I am off to go do some craft shopping in just a bit.

Here's my desk....and you can check out everyone else's desk over at Stamping Ground hosted by the wonderful Julia.

Ok, well, yesterday I finished up a card for a DT blog hop which will take place tomorrow at Sparkle N Sprinkle. This month everyone will be showcasing their favorite techniques. I had a hard time coming up with one 'cause I don't necessarily have a "fave". There's a St. Patty's card from my sister in the back. Some new Distress Markers in the little tin.

Gotta run and get dressed to head out....will check out everyone's desk tonight. Tootles!!

Tried a close up to see the glitter...there was just a touch added on the leafy parts with a glue pen.

What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday? #196

Here we go, another Wednesday has rolled around. And today I am tired as heck. Well, maybe not THAT tired. But, I worked til midnight and than slept like you know what after 3am. Sirens blaring, wind blowing, dreaming about work! (ugh!!!), etc...and I only have a quick morning before having to work 10 hours tonight. But, I am grateful for a job...so...

Anywho....here's my desk which the wonderful Julia at Stamping Ground hosts every Wednesday.

Not alot happening at the moment. Pulled out a drawer and listed all my Spellbinder dies. I want to make a small book with all my dies, alcohol inks, etc so when I am at the store I don't have to wonder...do I have this one?!...to the right is a mini kit I bought to make Easter cards with some mini Tim Holtz stamps. That's about it.

I did make this last weekend for the front door..

Some of the cherry blossoms around here have been blooming already for a couple weeks. However, it was the coldest it's been this past weekend 'cause I saw some snow flurries on Saturday. Didn't last long though.

I'll try to get to as many desks, but it may not be until Thursday afternoon. But, I will visit....

Get Your Motor Running...

head out on the highway...Born to be Wi-iii-ild!! :-)

Ahh, the weekend. Unfortunately, it is cold! There were actually snow flurries yesterday for a couple minutes. I know it's still March, and technically still winter....but c'mon spring!

Last week I made a card for a friend whose birthday falls on Feb 29 (he was born on a Leap Year). And he has a Harley!!

The stamp is from Viva Las Vegas and colored with Copics. I used a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Five die for image and background. Be Creative tape was used for the background die and poured orange glitter over the entire surface. The black background paper is by The Paper Studio and I distressed the edges and added Black Soot Distress Ink. I love this black ribbon with metal accents. So rocker! And metal brads were added to each corner.

My second card is still kind of ocean/aquatic theme...

Once again, I went a bit crazy with the glitter. But the backgrounds just look so great all sparkly and pretty. :-) This one is supposed to represent the sand,  water, sunset/sunrise, sky. Instructions can be found here

(A close up)
