WOYWW #224

Hello! It's Wednesday, middle of the work week for some, but for me it's the weekend. :-) Waiting on some people to show up and fix up my yard. I hope they get here soon!!

In the meantime, since it IS Wednesday, I'll share my messy desk with y'all and you can pop over to Julia's Stamping Ground to take a peek or join in the fun.

I cleaned up the messiness from Halloween card making (or pushed to the side) and created another mess for my TH September tag. (I'll be posting that probably tomorrow.) Ink, stains, stamps, metal keys, the usual TH grunginess. The remote for the TV that is off the right in the picture.

So the next couple Wednesday's I most likely won't be joining in...since I'll be on vacation in London. I found out while I'm there our American football (NFL) will be having a game there too.

Does anyone live nearby that would want to try and get together? Next Wednesday/Friday/Monday/Tuesday I could work it in...I fly in Wednesday and will just wander around. Friday and Monday I'm using the Hop On/Off bus to see the sites, and Tuesday is free to see whatever else...maybe Harrod's, hit Charring Cross bookstores, the stamp store. Any suggestions for getting a tea set? My sister would like one and if anyone can recommend a store? Or what other souvenirs are traditional?

Happy WOYWW!!

  3. Great desk and so ahead with your cards. I'm too far from London. But depending on what you want to spend, Selfriges is a good dept.shop to go too. Also for posh food items , Fortnam & Mason, but London has lots of places to shop, you can also try going to Covent Gardens. Hope this helps Francesca #84

  7. Have a wonderful time in London Gita. I am in Derby so a bit far away to meet up. I can recommend walking round the Christmas Department in Harrods. I love their teddy bears for pressies. If I were looking for a tea set new - maybe Liberties but it would be pricy there. If you could find an antique shop (on line before you get here) you can pick up trios (cup, saucer and tea plate set for £10 - £20) It is great fun to mix and match them. Covent Garden might have some fun souvenirs but watch out for the stairs at the tube station - You need to be fit to climb them. I thought I was going to pass out half way up!!! ;-) Thank you for popping by earlier. Happy WOYWW to you from Helen 67 x

  18. Sadly I am in the north of England and London would be a five hour ride away so no chance of meeting up but I would have loved to.
Think Harrods will take you a long time, you must go to the food hall - and Fortnum and Masons. Such a shame you won't be there for the big stamp show at Ally Pally - you just miss it. Sundays I would say petticoat lane market but not sure what it is like during the week. Not been to London in ages but some fab galleries and I did like Covent Garden. Have a look at this to see if anything would interest you http://www.streetsensation.co.uk/carnaby/cs_intro.htm
Have a great trip, if I find anything will email you.
Hugs, Neet - thanks for visiting me earlier xx

  21. yes, there are times, when pushing aside is perfectly fine.I do love though to come to my cleared space! It feels liberating, and means I can start something new.

  25. Hi Gita,

Thanks for visiting and your nice comments. Your messy is kind of tidy! I hope you have a great time in London, I am too far away and can't do Tuesday anyway. There is a tea shop near Covent Garden, (Neal Street I think) it has all sorts of interesting mug, cups, pots and tea and gadgets and nearly opposite it is Bodums where I got my glass teapots.

Found a link to the tea shop http://www.covent-garden.co.uk/SITES/theteahouse/
