WOYWW #215 -- Scrapbook Expo Haul

I can't believe I'm gonna get in on What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday super early. Crazy! Head over to Stamping Ground hosted by Julia to see what all the fuss is about.

Here's my desk...not a whole lot happening at the moment. I finished a kit I bought at a local stamp store using G45 paper. Printed out some images that I wanted to play with.

a close up of the box

So Friday I went to the Scrapbook Expo here in Atlanta, GA. Spent a good chunk of the day there shopping and catching up with one of my DT members from Sparkle N Sprinkle. Here's my haul...

uh, so, I went a little bit crazy it seems. LOL. I bought a bunch of Sizzix/Tim Holtz dies (starting at top right), a bunch of different brads (from halloween, summer, christmas, etc), sticker sheets, some paper, glitter, Viva Decor paints, gelatos, Spellbinder dies and other dies, embellishments. In the little blue bag near the top is actually some jewelry crafts. They're easy and fun. Beneath it is a sheet of images that you trim and a clear bauble with glue. It'll be fun to play with.

Than in the center are all the stamps. Some Our Daily Bread Design, Rubbernecker Stamps, Close To My Heart, and one or two other designers. Of course, one of the ODBD stamps I already had. I knew it too while I was there. The guy said I could exchange it at the next stamp show. We'll see. Maybe a give-away soon. :-)

Quick baby birdie update...

I finally noticed two left the nest. I came home Saturday night to find another dangling from the light fixture by one leg. Apparently it's claw was stuck within the twigs/poop of the nest. I had to pull it out but it's leg was too mangled. He disappeared the next morning. I have no idea what happened to him. :-(

But, the other 3 seem to be doing great. I see them out by the feeder.

I also see them bouncing around the front yard and sidewalk. So, they're doing great!

        They are just too cute!!

That's it for me...who is shockingly very early this week. LOL. Happy WOYWW!!

  2. Wow...You have a great stash. I went a little crazy at the Scrapbook Expo as well. I was almost broke before I went to class. Most of my purchases were Spellbinders dies and Want2Scrap bling. I wish I knew you were there. I would have loved to meet you.

  5. You have a gorgeous yard and impressive landscaping. Sorry to read about the little bird. It's always sad when that happens.

I bet you will have fun playing with all your new goodies. Seems you got a few things I've never even heard of (grin). Happy WOYWW from #2..

  6. OMG…. I am salivating over that haul. Someone will be having a crafty weekend. That box is beautiful as well. Where in ATL are you?? I come to ATL about 6x's a yr. My daughter is a champion level competative Irish dancer, and we come to ATL for competitions quite often. The traffic bites. I thought Charlotte traffic was awful. Who knows, maybe one trip down we could meet up. I hope you have fun with all your new stuff. (((HUGS)))

  7. Ah! So much cool stuff!!! It looks like you had a great time at the expo!

That is sad about the one bird hurting his leg, but I'm happy that all of the others are doing well. Hopefully he is just resting up and on the mend somewhere and will return soon!

  10. I LOVE that Asian box you made. I smiled when I saw everything you bought at the Expo, because I always go shopping at art store when I visit large cities. We don't have one where I live. We have birds that nest in our garden too, and it's sad when we find out a baby died. Blessings!

  16. That is some spend you made. Good for you gal!
Love the box you made - I have a G45 project to do, not as nice as yours, but it's been waiting over a year so guess it won't matter if it has to wait yet.
Sorry to hear about the little bird, what a shame. Poor wee thing.

  19. Hi Brigita,
Firstly, I’m so sorry that I never made it to your blog last week, especially as you had made the effort to visit me. I’ve made you one of the first I visit this week, so I hope you forgive me.
That’s a lovely lot of new stash you have to play with there, I look forward to seeing what you do with it all. I’m loving that beautiful box, so perhaps more of those?
Shame about the little birdie, you really feel it when you’ve watched them grow up in front of your eyes. The others look to be doing fine though. I love watching the birds on my feeders but they won't nest anywhere near because of BoJangles.

    Happy Crafting!

  24. Yummy goodies from your trip to the Expo. Thanks to several of you talking about Expo shopping trips I've decided I'll need to do the one in Collinsville IL next month. Guess that gives me time to make a shopping list, right? :-( on the baby bird but happy to see the others doing well. We've not had a lot of birds this year. Too hot for them, I guess.

  29. What an awesome haul of goodies!! I fear I would have gone broke shopping there - it looks like some amazing stuff!! Your birdies are so cute!! The other day, a family of Pileated Woodpeckers were eating off of a suet cake and the baby got spooked and flew into my sliding glass door :( It was stunned, just sitting there, at an awkward angle at first. I was so afraid it was going to die. I kept watch because I have three outdoor cats and didn't want them getting to him. Finally, after about 30 minutes, he regained his equilibrium and flew away. So I'm choosing to believe your birdie flew safely away, too :) Happy Wednesday :)

  34. Awww. That little birdie is adorable. But oh the danger of WOYWW and the additions to the shopping list it ALWAYS produces. DOH! Still I do love a good "haul" post. Have fun!

  35. You really should get those cross stitched projects out and enjoy them, especially as you spent so much time stitching them. If you don’t have room to show them yourself they would make lovely Christmas gifts too, I always find that some of my projects, given as gifts are very well received,

    Happy Crafting (again)
