WOYWW #213

For some reason, although I know it's Wednesday...I forget it's "Wednesday"...the day to share my crafty workspace with all you other crafty peeps out there. Of course, my sister has been in town. Actually, she just closed on a house last week. Seven doors down from me!! :-) People have asked if it's a good thing -- of course it is. I've been away from family for SO long, my parents are gone, so it'll be nice to be nearby.

Anyway, as I was sitting here watching a movie and scrolling through blogs I realized I, once again, forgot to share my desk. This "sharing" is hosted by Julia over at Stamping Ground

I think this is the first time y'all get to see my desk at night. I do have the bedroom light on along with my desk lamp. Pretty dark still. Ugh! I have a hard time staying creative at night. Last time I worked on my desk was last Wednesday actually. Some DT work.

My new storage shelves. I bought several pink/silver wired baskets at Target. Of course, I found two more that are now on clearance! So, I have my clear stamps in there. Ribbon are in the other pink pink/brown boxes. My cuttlebug is up there in the corner with embossing folders. And my Cinch is on top along with some stuffed toys. :-) The painting you see leaning up against the shelf is on I made at a local painting "class".

And I've been meaning to ask all you English gals -- what do you recommend I see going to London? I think I have my itinerary lined up but nothing has been booked yet. I'll be heading that way the end of September for about a week. I think I even found a craft/rubber stamp store in London. Thanks ahead of time!!

Happy WOYWW!! (with 14 minutes to spare...whew!)

  1. Love the new storage all filled with goodness. Its great news to have your sister so close by, especially when she is the only family you have around. Oh a trip to England how wonderful I am so envious of you right now, sorry no hints from me I have never been there. I would suggest that you meet up with some WOYWWers that would be great fun.

    Happy WOYWW

  3. Am jealous that you and your sister will be so close. Wonderful. How long are you going to have in London? Are you into museums and culture or outdoors type sightseeing or famous shopping? Like most capitals, there's loads of 'sights', and like most, they aren't lined up conveniently next to one another to save time and struggling on trains and buses! Bring good walking shoes! Did you find Blade Rubber Stamps?

  4. Does your sister stamp too? Your desk looks pretty clean to me. You obviously clean up a little inbetween projects! Good pair of walking boots. My husband and son were just there and that's what they said!

  6. The British Museum is wonderful if you're into history and archaeology and it's free!! As is the National Gallery and the National Portait Gallery. Also, if you love arts, crafts and design, you would ADORE the Victoria and Albert, or the VandA, museum in Kensington. They er got everything from jewellery to tapestries to fashion. Actually just walking along the Thames is good from the Houses of Parliament along the South Bank to Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Westminster abbey is amazing too...it's soooo old,
    I could go on, lol!!
You're only an hour away from Oxford and Winchester, two from Stonehenge and Bath.
I'll stop now but if yu need many more info, give me a shout!
    Hugs, LLJ xxxx

  10. I don't know London enough to direct you anywhere but do a Google search on things like Hobbycraft and The Range as they have crafty items - should imagine you have found Blade Rubber.
Love your new storage - now it needs cat food boxes in the spaces.
Sorry I am so late and thanks for visiting me - got behind with workshop prep and then this lovely weather came and I can't see my screen outside. Making a real effort this morning.

  11. I'm with Julie Z, love the new profile pic! :) You look like you are having a blast at the beach...I hope you have a great time in England, too. I have never been there, but my sister has. Can't remember what she saw, but go hog wild and just see everything, right? lol :) Love how the storage is progressing, but you are right about how dark your desk is at night! Ugh! No wonder you hardly work in there then. They make some very nice high end looking but still affordable track style lighting these days(even I couldn't figure out where punctuation would go in that run-on! lol)...perhaps that would solve the problem? Probably wouldn't even take but an hour for a good electrician to get wired up and then it'll be lights, camera, action for you girl! :) Then again, you may be talented and brave enough to diy it, huh? :) Thanks for stopping by already and leaving me a sweet comment. 1. I'm going to cram as much as I can in when I go to London. I usually need a vacation from my vacation. LOL. I thought about some kind of lighting in there...I'll need to check it out. And DIY when it comes to electricity?? Yikes. Well, I did install a light above a DR table once...but it was pre-wired. :-)
