WOYWW #211

Yikes...I almost forgot it's What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday!! Sheesh. Julia over at Stamping Ground is the wonderful hostess. It's early evening here, about to get dinner (shrimp tacos) started but wanted to share my desk...

I was waiting for some furniture to be delivered today (including a couple items for my craft room!!) so dove into my craft desk and worked on a DT project for an upcoming challenge which will be posted July 1st. This is the remnants of it...acrylic paints (all beachy/summer colors), Mudd Puddles, and glitter. Some Mod Podge in the back. And a few shells laying out. I went to Michael's to look for a small bird but couldn't find any...however, I found some cool mold's by Mod Podge (a nature one that has a some birds), and Mod Melts. You use a glue gun to insert the white Mod Melts and once it heats up just zap the glue gun and put the "melts" into the mold, wait 10 minutes and you got yourself a nice mold to paint, etc. :-)

Here's 2 new cubbies for my craft room. As you can see I haven't done anything to it really. Will need to buy more storage containers and set things up.

And for the bird lover's out there...

I found this smushed egg on my deck this past week. I think another bird stole what looks like a robin's egg and dropped it on my deck! :-(

But onto good news..

I have a momma bird who built a nest right outside my front door in th elight fixture. I got up on a ladder several days ago to see what's inside...at least 4 eggs. :-) I'm pretty sure it's a finch.

Happy WOYWW!

  6. Loving the colours of this post - just so uplifting - and that nest, it's just lovely to think of Nature's cycle. The other side of course is the smashed egg, which is so sad but when you think renewal is all around. Thank you for stopping by earlier. It is so exciting to have visitors from all over the globe! 11. Yay for Expedite shelving from IKEA! I love this range, once we move my whole craft room/office is going to be made up from this furniture. If you've looking for more storage for them I would suggest getting a few of the little draw sets that they do for this range, they are a great size for odd and ends and don't spoil the look of the unit :-)

  14. Wonderful post, Gita! A fun and painty desk and AWESOME cubbies! That is gonna be so cool when it's finished.

Thanks for sharing the nest. I did a "watch this nest" a while back with five eggs and mama and daddy. They all hatched and were just starting to be cute, hadn't even learned to peep yet, and then I left for lunch one day and came back and the nest was completely empty. It broke my heart. So good luck to them and to you that they make it. Please share photos if they do!

Happy WOYWW! Thanks for coming by to see me! Darnell #20

  16. Looks like you are having a great time creating :)
Love that your area is so bright. My room is in a corner room of the basement, and no window. So I get excited for anyone with great light shining in :)
Awww poor egg :( We have a robin nesting under the boat at our cottage. I got a photo of the babies (only a mother could love, lol.)

  17. Thank you for stopping by my blog. You asked about the magnetic sheets. I got it from Ebay. It actually came in a roll, but I cut the roll in half and into strips. There is adhesive on the back. That is about the extent of what I remember about the purchase. It was several years ago and I'd actually purchased it for another project that never came to fruition. Sorry I can't be of more help. April #143

  18. I've seen lots of those cubicles and people seem to put them to good use. I'm sure you will love them. Sorry about the robins egg, but it looks like you still have a family right outside your door. Lucky you. I wouldn't know one egg from another. Thanks for your visit earlier. Have a great slightly late WOYWW from #17.

  23. Sorry I'm so late visiting, especially as you were so lovely when you stopped by me. I love the colours you used in that project. As you said, very summery, which is rather nice given the summer is looking rather drab so far!

    Happy belated WOYWW.
