Tim Holtz May Tag of 2013

I finally got around to making my Tim Holtz tag for May after a quick stop at Hobby Lobby. I was still in a beach state of mind after returning from there this past Sunday.

This time I definitely added more distress stain to my craft sheet and love the way the colors turned out. It even looks like a stormy sky at the beach. :-)

Distress Stains - Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry, Brushed Pewter, Victorian Velvet, Bundled Sage, and Squeezed Lemonade.

The palm tree is by Art Impressions. Also used Dylusions - Background Love in a few areas.

I'm not sure if I like the remnant rubons. I placed it on the tag and rubbed the ones I wanted and than the whole sheet came off onto the tag...even the ones I didn't rub. I had to place the protective sheets all around the areas I didn't want on my tag. That or you would have to just cut around what you want and than rub it on.

I do like the enameled tags. I added Cloudy blue and Pink Sherbet alcohol inks and than some Raspberry after adding the remnant words.

I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges.

And for some glitter (cause I love glitter) I added Stickles Eucalyptus  around the palm tree leaves.

So happy with my tag this month. :-)

Hello all...Happy Wednesday!! The sun is finally shining here, the weather is definitely warm/hot now. Finally!! :-) I was a bit disgruntled Sunday/Monday when I came home from the beach to clouds!! Gah!! But it's getting better.

So, onto today's Wednesday share day....sharing our craft desks for all to see. If you'd like to join in, head over to Julia's Stamping Ground

My desk hasn't changed in about 2 weeks or more. Except more stuff being placed on top. Yikes. Definitely, for sure, will be cleaning it off this week. I need to get work done.

Gosh what a mess!! See the frame on the chair? Supposed to be a birthday gift. The b-day as beginning of May! New DT items inthe yellow envelope from SNS. Some other bags on the desk...I stopped at a scrapbook store on vacation and bought a few things. And online.

Some of my new stash...cute beachy paper and G45 too. Stencil and die. Summer H20's. Starform stickers that I saw being used with G45 images onto cards.

One other store, AC Moore, that I never heard of but is a chain that I popped into really quick. Found the Spellbinder die on clearance. Wanted the beach stamp with the ferris wheel!!

And while at the local shop I saw the IO beach set but they didn't have so I ordered online along with another die from my wishlist.

And this is where I spent the week. At Myrtle Beach, SC. The weather was great. Good beach time. :-)

Happy WOYWW!!

Sparkle N Sprinkle May Blog Hop

Hello Everyone! Welcome to the Sparkle N Sprinkle May Blog Hop. This hop will run May 9-10th. This month's hop theme is ~~ A Day at the Beach.

Perfect for me because I am heading to the beach in 3 days. :-)

If you arrived here via Karin Martin than you are in the right place. Otherwise, you might want to start from the beginning at the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog.

I created a beach scene for my card. I tore several strips of white cardstock and than added glitter, embossing powder, and flocking powder to different strips. Along the bottom I used Mudd Puddles Summer Escape.

Here's a close up of the different products....

The sun and sentiment are the Summer Swirl stamp set but can also be purchased individually. The palm tree is a Memory Box die ~ Swaying Palm. I also added gold brads and flip flop brads. The card was than mounted on yellow cardstock. You can see the full instructions and products used on the SNS site.

Be sure to leave a comment to be eligible for some great prizes (including stamp sets). Three prizes are "hidden" on different blogs along the hop. So be sure to leave a comment for each stop. The winners will be announced on the Sparkle N Sprinkle blog after the hop is over.

Have fun and your next stop is Jackie Smith

WOYWW #205

Welcome New Followers!!! I've had a couple start following me here recently. Thank You!!! :-) It's been nothing but rain, rain, rain here in Georgia. (And seems like alot of other places!) The weather has been acting wonky in different parts of the country that's for sure. This morning the sun is OUT and supposed to warm up into the 70's for the next few days (and hopefully start staying there and warmer).

Today's Wednesday so that means I get to share my crafty desk with all my fellow crafter's. Head over to Julia's Stamping Ground and see what all the fuss is about. It's fun!!

My desk hasn't had much work done on it since last week. A bit messier since I had to make a card for my DT this week. Next week won't change much since I won't be here. Will be on vacation on the coast and hopefully WARM weather!!

So, like I said. Messier! I plan on cleaning it up over my weekend before I leave town. There's glitter, embossing powders, stamp pads, brads out for the project I worked on for an upcoming blog hop. I just pushed all of last week's stuff out of the way and created more room. LOL.

Happy WOYWW!!!

WOYWW #204

I wonder how long it will take me to remember what day it day's off have changed so I have to really think this morning. OH! That's right, it's WEDNESDAY. Which means I get to show off my desk to all the other crafty folks over at Julia's Stamping Ground

I was MIA last week. Not much had changed since I was out of town that weekend anyway. Here's the desk which hasn't been touched really since last Thursday...

I was working on my Tim Holtz April tag last week and posted it last night. Almost forgot it was the last day of the month. I also grabbed some other stamps and put them there to work on a birthday card. I'm bad - my friends b-day is tomorrow and I have to still make it and send it out. Bad, bad friend!! I also have to finish her gift - I made a wooden collage frame out of paper napkins in a wine theme. I just want to pretty up the back with some paper.

Last weekend I went to Asheville for my birthday. I spent it with my 2 best friends. I also had a chance to meet up with another blogger (she has been on WOYWW but not lately).

yummy ice cream cupcake (also had Oreo ice cream cake)

Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenge

May is finally here. Crazy to think some parts are still getting snow or just getting over it. Yikes. And, it also means a new creative challenge at Sparkle N Sprinkle Creative Challenges blog.

This month is a color challenge.

Did you know May is National Strawberry Month? Yes it is! I love strawberries. So yummy!!

I used the Sweet Strawberries stamp set to create this "Naturally Sweet" card.  I found this pretty striped pattern paper in my stash that went well with the color palette. I colored the image with Copics. Then added Starfire glitter over the strawberries. You can find full instructions here.

You have all month to play along at the challenge and a chance to win a stamp set of your choice. If you use a Sparkle N Sprinkle stamp or digi you will receive a free digital stamp.
