WOYWW #178

Good Morning! Well, to most of you it is already well into Wednesday. Quick post here. Not alot of time this morning. I have to make some goodies for work tonight. Last week my schedule was too crazy with little time between shifts. It's been a chilly weekend and into the week with blustery winds because of Sandy and a cold front from up North. My A/C kicked on Friday afternoon and by the end of the weekend I had to turn the heat on.

But here's my desk this week.....

I had pulled out several stamps in hopes of working on them. I did get one card done this weekend with a set from Heartfelt Creations. Bought some other sentiments that are on clearance you see peeking out from the right side. Practiced making some medallions since I never made them before. Still need to get the hang of putting the two sides together nicely. Need to look at some more you tube videos. I'm missing something, just need to go take a quick look when I have time.

This weekend I'll be going to another Copics class to make 3 different Winter cards. Will be fun, can't wait. :-)

So in my haste to get this blog up and out  I totally forgot to mention why I am rambling about my desk....Ms. Julia at Stamping Ground is the wonderful hostess of What's On Your Desk? Wednesday.

Happy WOYWW!!!

Happy Holidays

Gosh, can't believe Christmas is almost around the corner. It's amazing how time flies....

Here's a cute snowman card from Sparkle n Sprinkle....

I created the background by painting acrylic paint over cardstock. You can find directions here. I love the way it turned out.

The snowman was painted with Sparkling H2O's. Some Lemonade and Crystal Ice glitter was added to scarf, hat and around border. Also added Shasta Puff embossing powder along the bottom that puffs when you emboss.

Christmas Fairy

Gosh, no time this weekend for crafting. Only had one day off and have been out most of the day....ok, I DID get some crafting in when I went to my Stampin' Up demonstrator's house and made 3 cards and ordered more goodies. But that doesn't really count since I didn't get to play with my goodies at home.

Here's an adorable little Christmas Fairy. Her name is Chloe the Peppermint Tulle Fairy and designed by Sparkle n Sprinkle.

I used Starfire and Cerise glitter, Peppermint Stick embossing powder by Sparkle n Sprinkle. She was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink, colored with Copics, and than added glitter on her tutu with dimensional glue by SNS.

The patterned paper is MME (Merry) and Celebrate It! ribbon. I used Spellbinders Labels 25 die for the red cardstock and that's where I added the Cerise glitter and Peppermint Stick embossing powder.

Here's a close up where you can see her tutu all sparkly...

Also, a couple weeks ago I participated in the Operation Write Home World Card Making Day blog hop. One of the participants, Pamela's World of Scrap had a Fancy Pants give away to one lucky winner. And that was ME!! :-) I almost missed out since I somehow didn't see her post.

However, today I got a little something in the mail...It's a 48 sheet paper pack "My Family". Thanks Fancy Pants Designs!!! :-)

And even a little further back I left some comments over at craftieodamae's blog for some Heartfelt Creations designs and I also was selected as the winner and received a $25 gift certificate for them. Yay me. So this is what I picked out....(I did spend more so I can get both). I am really wanting to try this stamp and die out...I hope soon!!

Happy Birthday ~~ Abby & Walter ~~ NEW Sparkle n Sprinkle Stamps

Today I'm sharing some cards I made for another new stamp set (or individual stamps) from Sparkle n Sprinkle called Abby & Walter. Very cute girlie birthday stamps!! Here's a look at the whole set...aren't these girls just too cute? And the cupcake is just scrumptious.

Here's my cupcake all pinked out and you can find the instructions here. The cupcake stamp can be purchased individually. The sentiment is from the smaller Cupcake Happiness set.

My next card is Flying Birthday Girl and the instructions can be found here. The sentiment is from the Party Set.

In my third card I used the Flying Birthday Girl and the instructions are found here. I again used a sentiment from the Cupcake Happiness set.

And the last card uses the Abby & Walter stamp and the instructions can be found here. The sentiment is from the Cupcake Happiness set.

Fall Harvest ~~ New Sparkle n Sprinkle Stamps

Happy Friday!! Today Sparkle n Sprinkle is debuting some new stamps for fall. This stamp set is called Fall Harvest. You can either buy the whole set or individually.

The first two cards use the Basket of Apples stamp and the Fall Harvest sentiment stamp set. I love this bucket of apples. So yummy!

Directions for the first card can be found here. I love the distress crackle look on it.

Directions for the second card can be found here. Love my new "wood" embossing folder.

The next two cards feature this adorable Pumpkin Patch stamp as well as the Fall Harvest sentiment set.

Directions for the first card here.

WOYWW #176

Happy Wednesday! It's that time of week again...time to snoop around everyone's desk across this crafty blogging world at What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday where Ms. Julia is our wonderful hostess.

So there's my desk. I didn't get much done this weekend. I posted a couple CAS cards on a new sketch challenge blog (you can check that out if you want on the post a couple before this one). That's where the skull (a new purchase this weekend) and my SNS blossoms come in. A fall card in the back waiting to be finished. Some new stamps and ink pads.

This weekend I took a couple classes at some local stamp store. The first one was some fall watercolor images from Art Impressions. This was actually the second of two classes and I didn't bring any of my tools so just quickly watercolored in the images and than went shopping. :-)

The first class was this fall set that we colored with Copics. I liked this one better, smaller class, and I am still learning how to blend and all that with Copic markers. I actually signed up for a winter one too. I'm really not sure why it is orienting itself sideways. It shows correctly in my pics folder and everything. If anyone has a clue..please share.

While at the stores I also spent way too much money on new goodies. LOL. So now I need to plop my tush down and get to work using some of my new "toys".

Gator Christmas

Here's a card I made for Sparkle n Sprinkle where I am one of the DT's. Super excited since this is my first official month with them.

The stamp is Gator Christmas and you can purchase individually or get the whole stamp set. The Celebrate the Season sentiment is part of the stamp set.

I used Luau Green Velvet Glitter for the adhesive strip along the bottom of the card. The sentiment was embossed with Red Apple embossing powder. On the Gator I added Pistachio glitter along his back and tail and some Crystal Ice glitter on the hat. Colored with Copics and added some Glossy Accents on the lights. I had some cute Christmas light embellishments so added that to the card too.

Gator is too cute. Here's the whole set...

Isn't it just too cute?! I love it.

Dia De Los Muertos (and some flowers)

It seems like I haven't posted many blogs in the last couple weeks or so. It's not that I haven't been creating...I have. Some cards I couldn't post because they were part of some new stamps for Sparkle n Sprinkle where I am a DT. I just have to wait for the Go! to post them. Some others I made for them I just haven't posted but will do so later today and hopefully tonight too.

Anyway....there's a new sketch challenge blog that's all about the Clean and Simple design. I usually don't do that, well, at least not THIS CAS. But, I thought it would be fun to participate.

Here's the sketch...

I made two completely different cards...the theme anyway.

Here's the first...

I love these skulls by Deadbeat Designs for Halloween/Day of the Dead. I just bought them over the weekend too. The embossing powder I've had FOREVER. It's called Lapis Lazuli. I love all the different colors after it's embossed. The gemstones, depending on where you are and the light will reflect the embossed colors. Very cool.

The second card....

I used stamps from Sparkle n Sprinkle Blossoms set. However, the stamps are also sold individually. I added some Liberty glitter (also from SNS) to the center of the red flower. It has bits of deep blue and red.

I am entering the first card into the CAS(E) This Sketch! Challenge #1.

WOYWW #175

Happy Wednesday! It's that time of week to share our desks/workspaces over at What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday hosted by the wonderful Ms. Julia who puts this all together every week.

Did anyone participate in the World Card Making Day back on Saturday? I posted a card onto the Operation Write Home (OWH) blog. You make cards for troops so they can send back to family/friends/loved ones. I just started up with them so looking forward to making cards.

Here is my desk. Took the pic last night and doesn't look too much different from last week. However, I did get quite a bit done. Worked on some new stamps for Sparkle n Sprinke where I am one of the DT's. I have one turned over so you can't quite see it and had to crop out another one.

So there's all sorts of glitter and inks and punches, etc all over my desk. Big desk, small workspace. LOL.

That's it for me ... my headaches from last week finally got better by Friday afternoon. It's these dang allergies. Sinus pressure! Ugh!

Happy Crafting!!!

Vintage-y Poinsettia

Gosh, I haven't posted many cards in the last couple weeks. Seems like I haven't been up to anything -- but I  have! Just can't post some, or been too busy. :-)

Here's one I made similar to the one I posted for OWH blog hop. I really love the way it turned out.

I used Cranberry and Red Pepper alcohol inks mixed with some gold mixative for the background. Stamp is from Savvy Stamps and embossed with Gold Embossing Tinsel I bought years ago by PSX Design.

Welcome to some new followers too!!!! I very much appreciate you taking the time to follow me. :-)

World Card Making Day Blog Hop - OWH 2012

Operation Write Home ~ Stars and Stripes Blog

Hi Everyone, welcome to the World Card Making Day blog hop...if you'd like to start at the beginning and see everyone's contributions than head over to the Operation Write Home ~ Stars and Stripes blog.

I just recently signed up to start making cards for troops. Such a great idea...I spent 9 years in the Navy and know what it's like being away from family and friends. Of course, for our troops nowadays there are alot of deployments and separations that are much harder!!

I used the following sketch for this Winter Themed blog hop...

and if you go to the OWH site you can find alot of different sketches!!

Stamp: Savvy Stamps
Distress Inks: Festive Berries and Evergreen Bough
Red embossing powder
Shimmer Sheetz by Elizabeth Craft Design
Gemstones

I embossed the shimmer sheetz with an embossing folder (Juli's Garden) and than used a sanding block to rub off some color from the embossed part. I found this technique on You Tube. Very fun and cool effect.

Thanks for all who stop by during this blog hop and I enjoy reading all comments ...so thanks ahead of time. Happy Holidays!!!

WOYWW #174

Another Wednesday (and it's October already!) is here and so is the time to go and have a looksie at everyone's desks and share your own space. Julia over at Stamping Ground is the wonderful hostess for this weekly event...

What IS WOYWW?? Well, What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday. :-)

I took this picture yesterday afternoon and this morning I wasn't sure if I'd post this blog (another serious headache!!).

Anyway, a few projects unfinished sitting on the desk. Can't really see them, a couple are in the upper left corner and some more stamped images in the bottom right. Some distress inks are out, Spellbinder dies, tape, glitter, etc..Nothing horribly exciting.

I took another picture...I wasn't sure if I was going to share it. But, what the heck....

Egad! Quite a mess on the floor. I am still not 100% sure what I want to do with the room, what kind of storage to buy, etc. So stuff is everywhere. I did buy a larger container on sale over by the TV. I was rearranging and I have inks all over the floor. Some finished cards in the green bin. Other crafty items over on the left.

Have a great Wednesday and rest of the week!!! Thanks for all your wonderful comments!!
