Witch's Shoe

I can't remember how I came across the idea for this shoe but it was a pattern found on Paper Crafts magazine. It's for Halloween -- a witches shoe. But it looks so Victorian too. :-)

Boot Pattern is found on Paper Crafts magazine.
Background is embossed using Market Street stamps "Sweet Lace" background stamp. Than embossed with clear embossing powder mixed with black glitter.
Black glitter tape, black glitter on heel using tear-iffic tape.
Bling.
Ribbon and this cool black flower/feathery embellishment I found at the scrapbook expo (I wish I bought more now...will have to find out where I can get some more..)
Sentiment on the inside is from Great Impressions. Just bought it this weekend and love it.

Halloween Wreath

I love pintrest....I got the idea for this card from one I saw on there. I spent the afternoon making several cards, a photo frame collage while watching the Olympics!

Background paper is from Graphic 45. I used a pine punch (1"X1 1/2") for the base of the wreath. Added some bling and ribbon. Sentiment for the inside of the card is by Great Impressions.

Summer Lovin'

Here's a cute nautical/beach themed card for summer. I'm trying to expand my horizons and want to submit more cards for challenges. This one I am submitting to Die Cuttin Divas weekly challenge blog and Creative Cutter Room Summer Fun challenge and Simon Says Stamp Challenge.

I used one of my favorite Cricut cartridges: Life's a Beach

Nautical background paper was some scrap. Beach chair cut at I think 2". Boat at 1.25" and the palm trees were cut twice (one was reversed prior to cutting on my gypsy) at I think 2".  Tore some beige and blue paper for the sand and water. Added some shell brads I found at the scrapbook expo. The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms "Sun Kissed" stamps. The cloud stamp is from Art Impressions. Some red stickles glitter glue on the pennant and base of sail boat. And some Tim Holtz distress ink along the edges. Oh, and I used some pop dots to pop up the beach chair.

WOYWW? #164

Well, it's been many months since I last posted to to What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday?. I bought a house, so moved and all that stuff. Took some little getaways. Wasn't doing much in the crafty department. But the last 2 months have been getting back into the swing of things. Plus, getting more organized has helped too.

Here's my desk in the new room. Plus some other views...

Right now my desk is actually quite "clean". Have some projects off to the side for Christmas and Halloween. Along with some Twinkling H2O's. A new find. I love the little metal stand I found at Hobby Lobby...have put all my glitter glues and other bottles in there. I always need more "space" when I craft. I can't be facing the wall so my desk faces my backyard and beyond. Love it.

I've started organizing a bit better. I bought the paper cubes from Michael's and Hobby Lobby when they were on sale. Almost half off each time. Now my paper is more accessible and easier to see. Plus, all my other drawers full of glitter and embellishments, etc.

This stand I also found at Hobby Lobby. Thought it would be cute to display some stamps on it. :-)

That's it....new home, new space. Slowly getting it organized.

If you'd like to see what others are up to and the person behind this...head over to Stamping Ground's blog and see what's all the fuss...

Purple Sandy Beach

One of my new finds at the Scrapbook Expo earlier this month was something called Mudd Puddles at Sparkle n Sprinkle's booth. There were so many different varieties of this texturing sand or shells, sea glass. So, I bought about 6 jars or so. Looks like so much fun to play with....

Watercolor Paper
Twinkling H2O's
Palm tree rubber stamp - Art Impressions
Sentiment - Scrappy Moms "Sun Kissed"
Mudd Puddles - Laguna Beach and Shells
Stampin' up scallop punch

I have so much fun with the Twinkling H2O's and the Mudd Puddles were really easy to use. Just used a palette knife to spread it around. Here's another view..

Eek!!

I was browsing through the latest Card Maker magazine and saw that someone used webbing spraypaint. Hmmmm...very cool idea. So, while at Michael's the other day, guess what I found?! You betcha, webbing spray by Krylon!! They had silver, gold and black. I bought the black one -- for Halloween.

I used white cardstock for the background and just sprayed the black webbing spray over it. I slightly adjusted the angle and sprayed again. Just 2 quick bursts across the cardstock.

Spider stamp - Stampabilities "whimsy spider"
Sentiment - A Muse Artstamps
Spider brad
Jim Holtz distress ink
3D Crystal Lacquer (over the body of the spider)
Black Liquid Applique (over legs and string)
Corner punch

Going Batty

When I have a chance I search the 'net for ideas on creating new cards. One day I came across one that I just knew I wanted to try!! Fabously Artsy created a very cool suspension card for Halloween...here's my version...

Stamp on the black cardstock by Inkadinkadoo "Halloween Trails". Mixed black glitter and clear embossing powder.
Stamp on white cardstock by Impress.
Jim Holtz distress ink.
Black bat stamp - Stampabilities (stamped twice and cut out).
Black glitter.
Black thread.
Decorative trim - Hobby Lobby.

If you go to the YouTube video on the link above you'll see how she made the card.

Happy Stampin'

Season's Greetings

I'm having so much fun with all my new "toys" for card making. I went to a local stamp store about a month ago and I think I bought out the store. LOL! Plus, I went to the scrapbook expo a few weeks ago when it came to town. I so love Sparkle n Sprinkle. Glitter, glitter, and more glitter. Plus, they have this new product called Mudd Puddles. LOVE it!! It adds texture like sand -- in all sorts of colors. Plus shells, etc. I want all of them. :-)

Anyway, onto my card...with one of the new items I purchased at the stamp store. I used a stencil to create the leaves and sentiment.

Red glitter backround paper: The Paper Studio
Gold background paper: Paper company
Stencil: Dreamweaver. "greetings"
Dreamweaver Metallic Gold Embossing Paste
Gold Glitter

The stencil needs to be taped on all sides. Don't be stingy. Cover all sides with the tape. I also used a palette knife to spread the embossing paste over the entire stencil. It took until the 3rd try for me to get it right. The first two I either didn't use enough, or my technique wasn't right. I think I found a video on you tube and watched a few to get it right. After spreading the paste, I used a paste spreader to remove the excess paste. Removed the stencil and than sprinkled gold glitter over the embossing paste and let dry.

Thanks for visiting!

Ocean Breezes

So I love anything that has to do with the beach. And finding new fun things to try when it comes to making cards. Came across Twinkling H2O's at the store the other day and had to try them out.

I just tore up some background paper that was already embossed with small dots. The palm tree stamp is by Art Impressions and was stamped on watercolor paper. Than I used my new Twinkling H2O's to paint the sky and beach background as well as the palm tree. Added some bronze brads to each corner. The shell sticker is from K+Company.

"I got my toes in the water, ass in the sand..." ~ Zac Brown Band

It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

Made this card back in June not long before I went to Myrtle Beach, SC. and enjoyed some coconut rum and pineapple juice -- Yum!!

The stamp and sentiment are both from Stamping Bella. I used Twinkling H20's to paint her in. The background paper is The Paper Studio 4.5X6.5" Poteeka Souffle paper pack.

Enjoy your summer!!

Independance Day

It's been a long while since I posted any cards that I made. I moved the end of last year and things have been busy.

So, let's start with some 4th of July cards I made last month....

This first one I wanted something I guess that looked "old". I tore pieces of white and red paper and pieced them together on a square card. Used my Cricut and cut out three stars in different sizes and than glittered them up. I used Distress Ink to make the red/white paper look a little dated. That's it.

The second card I used my Cricut to cut out the letters "USA". Used some distress ink on the background paper and the letters. Added some glittery sticker stars. I also stuck to the theme on the inside and added some sticker brads.

Last one I cut out the letters with my Cricut. The background paper already had stars cut out along the bottom. Added some more stickers and lots of glitter on the letters.

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer!!
