Purple Kimono

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. For those that celebrate I'd like to wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you'll enjoy time with friends/family. And a big welcome to some new followers. I appreciate it. :-)

I love the way this card turned out. Especially the blingy ribbon along the edge. I chose the colors based on traditional colors that Geisha's typically wear, depending on the month. January is sprout green and deep purple.

All stamps are from Sparkle N Sprinkle. I created the background using water stamping technique. The flower stamp is part of the Japanese Lady stamp set.  I used alcohol inks on glossy paper and just swiped the color in a downward motion. Stamped Fan Kimono image with Versamark and used Amethyst Spray embossing powder. I was experimenting with colors and combined Lettuce and Purple Twilight alcohol inks. Thought it was a bit too dark for background but used it to stamp the Kimono again with versamark and used Halo embossing powder just around the circle and cut. The sentiment was embossed with the Amethyst Spray embossing powder. Used purple CS for background and as a border around sentiment. Used mounting tape to add kimono to card. And added wired ribbon along the edge of the background.
