WOYWW? #173

Good Morning! I almost wasn't going to participate this week. Woke up with another sinus pressure headache. Ugh! I had them for about 2 weeks straight towards the end of August and than nothing until today. But I took some drugs and my morning coffee and feel a bit better.

So, let's see...I was playing with my alcohol inks a few days ago so they are still left out. I also brought out some items for projects I hope to get to this weekend. In the bottom right corner are 3 letters B O O. I want to modge podge some Halloween paper over it. I swore I found the idea on Pintrest but can't seem to find the link. Oh well. I also have some Heartfelt Creations stamps out for fall and the tea set. My small collection of Copics to the left.

I did get quite a few cards done this weekend. I posted a couple and the others are for my new job as a Design Team (DT) member over at Sparkle n Sprinkle. I love playing with glitter and they are ALL about the glitter. :-) Will be  fun year.

That's it for me...have  great week everyone. As always, thanks for stopping by and leaving comments.

Oh, and if you are wondering why I am going on about my workdesk than please go visit Ms. Julia at Stamping Ground to see what is going on for WOYWW -- What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday. Lots of folks sharing their work spaces....

For those that live in England -- what is a good time of year to visit? I have a week off next September and was contemplating 2 different places depending on $$. Is that a good time of year? Thanks for input. I would be staying in the London area.

Purple Blossoms

This is another card I managed to complete today (along with about 4 other cards!).

I used products from Sparkle n Sprinkle (of which I officially will start my DT duties on October 1st).

The flowers and sentiment are from the Blossom set #429, but quite a few of the stamps are also sold individually. I used gelato's (for the first time) to color the flowers in and than fussy cut them out. I mixed two glitters together (Orchid and Cerise) and added to center of each flower. As you can see, I cut one of the flowers in half and used on edge of paper.

For the background I used the Acrylic Paint Distress technique on the Sparkle n Sprinkle website. I skipped the part where you used the sponge dauber to add ink (mainly because I forgot, LOL.).

I also used some pop dots on the top part of the whole flower and added twine and buttons.

Sumbitting this card for the Celebrate the Occasion Birthday Challenge (must use twine and a button).

Soft Sunset

Been working in my craft room today. Got quite a few projects completed. Including this card for a challenge over at the Dreamweaver's Stencil blog DREAM it UP!

The challenge was to "get inky with stencils". I don't really have a big selection of stencils so I used this palm tree (LL527).

I used Adirondack Earthtones (Butterscotch and Hazelnut), Color Box Chalk ink (Warm Green) and Staz on (Timber Brown) for the trees and sand.

Background I sponged on Stampin' Up stampin' pads (Pool Party, Calypso Coral), and Adirondack (butterscotch).

Art Impressions cloud stamp and Stampscapes water pattern (small) stamp with Stampin' Up pool party.

Sentiment is TPC Studio Greetings clear stamps with Staz On Timber Brown.

Matching Stampin' Up cardstock (calypso coral) for border.

Submitting to Getting Inky with Stencils at Dreamweaver's Stencil blog.

WOYWW #172

Good Morning! I am loving this time of year...getting a little cooler (although I do prefer warm!) and soon the leaves will be changing pretty!

It's that time of week....Wednesday...time to share what's on my desk over at Stamping Ground. Ms. Julia is the wonderful host who puts us all together so we can have a little snoop at everyone's desks/workspaces!!

So, a bit messier this week? LOL. I've had reports my desk was I worked hard this weekend to make it more presentable, of sorts. Hehe.

All of this mess came about from a side step card I made and another I was attempting to make from a sketch but just couldn't come up with anything. Darn it. I hate when that happens. You can see my Sparkling H2O's towards the bottom. Distress inks. My stamps from Heartfelt Creations and Sparkle n Sprinkle are still out too.

It does get annoying having this mess though, my workspace becomes this tiny little space. Now I just gotta clean it all up so I can start fresh.

Happy WOYWW!!! Have a great rest of the week and weekend!!!

Thanksgiving Blessings

This is my first attempt at a side-step card. It actually wasn't difficult making the cut and scores.

I bought some Heartfelt Creations stamps/dies at the Scrapbook Expo this year and am finally using the Falling Leaves stamps and die set. I used Distress Inks (Tea Dye, Vintage Photo, Peeled Paint, and Spiced Marmalade) on the leaves. Also added Fall Leaves and Florida Beach glitter by Sparkle n Sprinkle. Stamped with Staz-On Timber Brown ink.

The sentiment is also from the same Falling Leaves set and was embossed with Fiery Brown embossing powder from Sparkle n Sprinkle.

The pumpkin stamp is by Hero Arts and used brown embossing powder and colored with chalks. Added Florida Beach glitter by Sparkle n Sprinkle.

The wheat stamp is by Inkadinkadoo "Meadow" set and stamped with Adirondack Terra Cotta and Butterscotch inks. Added Florida Beach and Imaginations glitter by Sparkle n Sprinkle.

I really enjoyed putting this card together and definitely plan on using this shape again!!

I'm adding this to the Celebrate the Occasion challenge #79 - Getting in Shape.

WOYWW? #171

Hello all! Happy Wednesday again! Time to go take a snoop at everyone's desk and see what we're all up to (or not)...sounds like a strange thing to do?'s fun, come join in at Stamping Ground where Ms. Julia hosts this wonderful snoop around the globe at What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday.

This weekend I was working on some cards and it did get a bit messy but than cleaned that all up and now back to the scrapbook. Have a LO sitting here waiting to be finished. This one is of the Viktulienmarkt in Munich. A large, outdoor food market and other goodies. Also, several WOYWW'ers ago, Queen Lightwell suggested I change out my plastic storage containers that were holding all of these paper containers. Well, I finally did. Bought this little cabinet that has 3 shelves on the inside.

One more piece of exciting news....I was selected to be a DT for Sparkle n Sprinkle!! They are an online/retail store that sells cute stamps and all sorts of glitter, embossing powder, etc...I'm really excited because this is my first time ever being a DT. :-)

Happy Wednesday Everyone!! And thanks for all the lovely comments...always appreciate them.

Blue Blossoms

Happy Monday! Hope everyone's team won this first weekend of NFL football. If not, sorry and hopefully next time (unless you are playing my team, LOL.)

I made this card to enter a challenge over at Sparkle n Sprinkle. Every month they have a new sketch challenge and someone has a chance of winning some of their great products. This month's winner will receive a stamp set of their choosing. September's challenge goes until 9/30. Here's this month's sketch:

Head on over to their challenge for a chance to win!!!

I used the Blossoms 3 stamp set. The background was creating using a Faux Patina technique from their Tips & Techniques page. Plus some glitter and embossing powders. Added some pop dots for added dimension.

Bee Happy!

I was re-organizing my stamps a little bit and found this cute bee stamp I've had for years. Have no idea if I even ever used it. But, it'll work perfectly for the Celebrate the Occasion challenge "Hey Honey" because it's Honey Month. And who makes honey? Beeeeeeesssss!

I used an embossing folder and stamped Mustard Seed Distress Ink inside the front cover. After embossing, I than went over it with Peeled Paint and Antique Linen.

Spellbinders circle and lacey circles for the bee and background.

The bee image is by Rubber Stampede. I used Versamark and embossed with black embossing powder. Colored with Copic (Y06).

Corner punch all around.

And....I used scrap pieces of paper for all of it. :-)

I also am just starting to make cards for Operation Write Home (OWH). This will be the first one to add to the collection box. You make cards for deployed service members so they can write home!! This is my first card to add to the collection.

Olive at the Beach

I am super excited to share this card with everyone. Why? Because it got me a spot as part of the new Design Team at Sparkle n Sprinkle.

I had some of their product, went to the Scrapbook Expo back in July here in Atlanta and bought some more of their product. Fell in love with Mudd Puddles which brought me back to the online store and saw they were looking for new DT's. I've never done anything like that, but thought, what the heck...

Well, made it to the semi-finals and they wanted to see something using one of their images so this is the card I created using a digi by Michelle Perkett. Her name is Olive. And I just noticed they have my card up as an example.....someone (me!) has a BIG grin on her face. How exciting!!

I'm looking forward to the upcoming year and seeing all the new things I can learn and share with everyone.

Here's the rest of the gals who made the 2012-2013 Sparkle N Sprinkle Design Team.

WOYWW? #170

Well, it's not officially Wednesday here in Georgia but by the time I finish writing this...close enough. :-) Last week I posted a pic of my workdesk all neat and tidy getting ready to scrap my Munich trip. This week, a tad messier!

If you're wondering why in the world is she sharing pics of her desk...well, go check out our wonderful hostess Julia at Stamping Ground. You'll see what the fuss is about and maybe join's fun.

Let's go....

I was able to get about 3 layouts done this weekend. Only had one day off so not alot of time to craft. I did post a blog about 2 of the LO's and the pics were acting up...downloading sideways. :-/ Not sure what was going on there..but if you'd like to check them out...Around Munich. I know some were interested. However, on the desk is another LO waiting to be completed. Storybook cartridge and another floating around somewhere. Spellbinders on the far side.

And than this is where the actual "mess" is.....

To the right side of the floor is all my paper in a big pile. The open pink 12X12 storage container where I place my completed pages. I moved an empty storage container over near the desk to place my laptop so I can look up info about where I was or names of certain places. Peeking out behind that is my little pink Cuttlebug.

That's about all there is to share right now....hope everyone has a great week!!!

P.S. It's officially 12:00AM Wednesday!!! Right on time! LOL.

Around Munich

Last week I finally brought out all my pictures, paper, etc. so I can start scrappin' my trip to Munich from December 2009. Today I was able to get a few layouts completed. Yay!

I'm starting the album(s) with pictures from around Munich.

The Munich title I got from a great site called Scrap Your Trip. The bling is from Want2Scrap.

On the left is Marienplatz and the others are just "around Munich".

I used my Storybook cartridge for the title. Spellbinders Lacey Circles for the larger circle image, and a CM corner punch on all the pics, title, and journalling.

This is Karlstor Gate shown during the day and again at night. At night it was very pretty....changing colored lights on the outside of the building and pretty window shops.

I'm trying to post one more layout but for some reason it keeps uploading sideways. Not sure what is going on.....oh well, next time.
