WOYWW? #165

What, you ask does that stand for??? What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday...hosted by Julia over at Stamping Ground. Folks from all over share what's going on on their workdesks...it's fun..come join the in!!

Last week I had a pretty tidy desk. Everything was mainly put away except for some projects off to the side. Well, some of that is still there off to the left side of the desk. And new projects are covering the rest. :-) I went and did a bit of shopping this weekend and spent Sunday making cards and working on the picture frame you see on the right side. All while watching the Olympics!!

I bought some alcohol inks which are on the right side of the desk and have been playing around with that. The poinsettia's (red and white) were done on clear acetate paper and I used glitter stickles on the back side to color it in. It looks great on darker paper not so much on lighter paper. The picture frame is a collage of beach themed scenes from paper napkins. I learned this technique at a class I took a few weeks ago. I need to add a few more pieces and than will be done. (I thought I was done, but realized a couple areas look to blank).

Anyway, that's what's been happening over here ....now over to check out everyone else's. Enjoy!! Thanks for stopping by and thanks to Queen Lightwell for a great tip last week reference by paper storage sitting on top of my plastic containers..the weight might ruin the drawers...so will be changing them out eventually. :-)

  1. Busy again Gita! The photo frame is lovely..funny how you have to look at it a couple of times and then walk around it a bit to see the gaps. I'm sure the poinsettia are stunning, but I'm trying not to look because that means Christmas!

  5. That's a great desk, Gita - lovely supplies and beautiful colours wherever you look, and lots of imagination going on, using different materials! That frame is just great - really stunning. Love it! Of course, sea themes are one of my favourite - you've done a beautiful job with it.

Thanks for your lovely comment - glad you like what I'm doing. If you look carefully at my blog header you'll see I used that particular paper in the photo montage. I was pleased with how it turned out, with the gilding flakes.

    Happy WOYWW,

    1. Eliza, if I don't get hopping on the cards now, it won't get done! LOL. I like to take my time with cards, I don't usually pop out a whole bunch at a time. :-) I'm the same with scrapbook LO's...

  20. Your picture frame rocks! I love it so with its summery beach scenes. The poinsettias are looking good, but you are right that they pop better on the darker card. Lots of fun things on your desk. You have a little bit of everything going on.
